Scientist to work on interpretation of limb observation of SCIAMACHY

The scientist will work on the interpretation of limb observation of SCIAMACHY which is an instrument aboard of ESA's environmental satellite ENVISAT.

We are looking for a PhD in meteorology, (astro)physics or applied mathematics with extensive experience of radiative transfer modeling and trace gas retrieval from satellite limb observation. The candidate's main task comprises the development and application of an algorithm to retrieve stratospheric ozone and aerosol abundance from SCIAMACHY limb measurements and its data interpretation, including validation and verification with independent stratospheric measurements.
